I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan. Formerly, I was an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University.

My work focuses on developing statistically rigorous and computationally scalable methods for integrating and harmonizing complex biomedical data, and on training the next generation of biostatisticians to lead this research.

My current methodological interests are in:

  • Data integration, with a focus on meta-analysis and transfer learning
  • Shrinkage estimation
  • Distributed estimation and inference leveraging modern computing and algorithmic developments

My current applied interests are in:

  • Modeling brain functional connectivity
  • Analytic methods for mass spectrometry imaging data
  • Harmonizing measures of physical activity and health
